These are the main minerals and elements that have been identified. Apart from this, there are hundreds of minerals and trace elements in basalt powder.

The agricultural power of basalt powder derives from this.

Basalt is rich in natural silica, it may  cause irritation to the lungs and skin. it is advised

you must use an approved  mask and gloves when using  the basalt dust.

Volcanic basalt contains concentrated amounts of trace elements and minerals. Most of these are the minerals  that have been leached from
our surface soils from over-use due to long term agricultural practices and exposure to the elements. In effect  farmers have been ”making tea with the same bag for 10,000 years.”

For a more immediate replenishment of nutrients, this  finer grade  0-2mm will start to break down within a few weeks.

Rock dust is pulverized stone, often produced as a by-product
of the mining industry. It has no additives or pollutants. This dust is
able to deliver some crop nutrients, like potassium, magnesium, iron
and calcium and other trace elements. This allows farmers to substantially reduce fertilizer input costs and increase yields.

As a multifunctional fertilizer, it is able to supply,in addition to the macro-nutrients (N, P
and K) required for optimal crop growth, a range of other micro-nutrients (e.g. S, Ca,
Mg, B, Cl, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Zn), while it also improves the physical, chemical and
biological quality of the soil. research claims that the benefits of adding rockdust to soil
include increased moisture-holding properties in the soil, improved cation exchange capacity and better soil structure and drainage.

It also has a high paramagnetic value.

It has a number of other uses -weed suppression. Paving dust. Compost improver, activator  and acceleration. Wormery  additive.

Enhances soil’s natural ability to capture and store carbon.

Keep dry to apply more easily.
